The hotel was updated with a wide array of innovative technology aimed at saving energy, being environmentally-friendly and handicapped accessible. Nevertheless, the gifts of the past have not been lost as a result of the improvements and restorations of some of the architectural elements present in the old Hapsburg villa, which is now the Hotel we know.

Natural materials, such as high quality wood, marble and stone have been used throughout the hotel. An example of these decorative elements is the Thun majolica tiled stove, which sits on the antiqued white marble floor in the hotel lobby.
