History
The sincere welcome of the locals was also much appreciated.
Ilda Pizzinini, originally from the Rungg farm in Badia and who worked as a teacher there, opened the "La Stüa" hotel just before Christmas in 1965, giving it a Ladin name as she was an enthusiastic supporter of the language and traditions of the local people.
Between 1974 and 2001 the hotel was gradually extended and modernised. From 1977 onwards, Ilda was helped by her husband Maurizio: they were joined shortly thereafter by their granddaughter Rita, who married Sauro in 1994: then, between 1995 and 2003, Robert, Gabriel and Michele were born. In the secret hope that one of the three would one day continue with the family business, Rita decided to devote herself fully to running the hotel.
