The excellent cuisine and varies with seasonal specialties convinces not only gourmets. You can also have an aperitif or a delicious pizza on the terrace. Our rooms with a total of 18 beds, a balcony, bathroom with shower-WC, TV, safe and Internet access, they make you feel at home on vacation.

Scenery and sights

The untouched countryside is perhaps the most attractive sight of the valley. Discover the valley's mountains with its woods and animals, the flowery meadows, the clear mountain lakes and the mythical places. Take a rest in the ethnic alpine pastures. An unforgettable experience is the “Penserjoch” ( a ridge) with its rhododendron blossom. The castles of the valley, like “Schloss Reinegg” above the main village Sarnthein, are privately owned and therefore not accessible. Instead, each village has a church with beautiful frescos, like St Cyprian in Sarnthein, St Nicholas in Durnholz and St Valentine in Gentersberg.

Traditions

The deeply rooted traditions and customs of the Sarntal valley are an exceptional experience for every guest. Besides numerous processions, the valley preserves various traditions such as the “Sarner Kirchtag” (a feast with a special parade and a concluding country market) and the “Klöckeln” (a pre-christian fertility custom before Christmas). Special importance is attached to craft industry: wickerwork, whistle-making, quill embroidery, mountain-pine oil distillery... You will find the right souvenir from the Sarntal valley. 

Located in the middle of the Sarn Valley at 1021 meters, we are in an interesting geographical point, being the crossroads for Val di Pennes and Valdurna with its lake and nearby ski lifts and the ski area of ​​San Martino (also open during the summer).
